The future of South Australian football was on show at the 2023 SANFL U15 Boys Intrastate Carnival this week - and they certainly didn’t disappoint.

KommunityTV broadcast three days of action from Tuesday to Friday, with players from Sturt. Glenelg, West Adelaide, South Adelaide, Central Districts, North Adelaide, Norwood and Woodville-West Torrens all showcased.

KOBY MOIR

The younger brother of star South Australian AFL draft prospect Ashton Moir, Koby has also proved to be one to watch for the future.

Moir was dominant as a forward throughout his appearances for Glenelg this week, booting eight goals to lead all comers.

His ability to burst on the lead for marks, finish for goal and set up teammates with crisp disposal was on full display.

RYDER MONTGOMERY

(West Adelaide Country)

A star youngster out of the Loxton North Football Club, Montgomery had a major impact for the Bloods during this week’s carnival.

Named among West Adelaide Country’s best in all three games, Montgomery’s ability to win the footy around the ground and distribute to teammates under pressure made him a standout.

SEB CAVALLARO

(Woodville-West Torrens Metro)

With the ability to play a number of roles and have an impact in front of the big sticks, Cavallaro was one of WWTFC Metro’s top players.

An athletic player with a big tank and clean skills, Cavallaro booted seven majors in this week’s carnival.

HARVEY PEARCE

(Norwood Country)

Harvey Pearce was one of the standouts.

A standout for Norwood Country in each game of the intrastate carnival.

Pearce is a young gun mid out of Marble Range in Port Lincoln. He showed his ability to fight in the contest and hit any target around the ground.

Was named among his side’s best players three times.

AUSTIN HUXTABLE

(Sturt Metro)

Austin Huxtable was last year's Hills Football League U14 Mail Medal winner.

A strong mid and forward prospect, Huxtable was one of Sturt’s best players this week.

The Hahndorf and Mitcham young gun has the ability to cover ground as well as anyone and can also move forward to hit the scoreboard, kicking two goals from the middle.

JACK MARKS

(Woodville-West Torrens Metro) 

A versatile player out of Port District who can slot in behind the ball or through the contest, Marks was a standout for Woodville-West Torrens in each game he played.

Marks has a cool head on the ball and boasts top drawer skills by hand or foot.

HARVEY CROKER

(Glenelg Country)

Croker has been a dominant player for West Gambier this season and showed what he can do for Glenelg Country throughout the intrastate carnival.

An exciting prospect on the ball, Croker brought valuable run and carry as well as distribution for his side. He also showed his ability to move up the ground and hit the scoreboard.

SAM O’FLAHERTY

(South Adelaide Country)

Sam O'Flaherty had an excellent carnival.

A talented player who produced his best footy across the forward line.

O’Flaherty is an athletic and courageous player who covers ground exceptionally well and can also take strong marks.

Kicked five goals for the carnival.

JORDAN RUCHS

(Central District Country)

Ruchs was one of Central District Country’s most consistent players.

The star onballer from the Golden Grove and Freeling football clubs brought elite pressure to the contest and dealt to teammates with ease under pressure.

Could also hit the scoreboard on occasion.

HARVEY CRANE

(North Adelaide Metro)

Another young North Adelaide prospect out of the Walkerville Football Club, as well as Loxton North, Crane starred for the Roosters’ metro side.

Named in North Adelaide’s best twice, Crane is a tough competitor who racks up disposals and also makes a number of contests in the air and at ground level.
