“The U18s have played one match so far in their AFL U18 National Championships campaign, with a strong 78-point win over the Allies at Thebarton Oval.

“Their next match isn’t until Sunday, August 11 against Vic Metro in Melbourne, so this match provides important practice and cohesion for coach Brad Snell and the squad.

“For the U23s, this is an opportunity to play well against quality opposition knowing that AFLW recruiting and list managers will be watching the contest closely.

“Coach Narelle Smith selected the squad with the assistance of Katrina Gill (Crows AFLW list manager) and Naomi Maidment (Port Adelaide AFLW list manager) and picked players on form and with AFLW attributes.”

A number of promising names are set to feature for the U18s such as Glenelg’s Poppy Scholz, Central District’s Georgia McKee and Sturt’s India Rasheed, while the U23s will feature promising players such as West Adelaide gun Zoe Venning and Glenelg’s Chloe Harding and Kayla Robran.

There will be an MVP medal presented for the best player of each team at the end of the game.
