In a first, KommunityTV will exclusively broadcast 41 matches across the carnival in two simultaneous live streams each day.
AFL Masters SA president Brenton Wortley said the annual tournament had a perfect blend of competitiveness and friendly social environment.
“It’s been four years in the making to have the carnival in Adelaide,” Wortley said.
“There’s a lot going on out on the field but also off the field with events. It’s pretty full on but great fun.
“We have a great camaraderie built up with the other states from over the years … people come once, get bitten by the bug and now we have the biggest carnival to date happening here.”
More than 1200 players are set to descend on Adelaide for what will be the largest edition of the AFL Masters National Carnival yet.
America-born South Australian representative Casey Martel will play in her first national carnival and said she was drawn to the sport of her adopted home by its unique physical gamestyle.
“I was invited out by another player through baseball,” Martel, a SMOSH West Lakes player, said.
“She saw me tackling and said ‘do you really like to tackle?’ and I said ‘it’s all I want to do’.
“The regular season is done so I’m just looking forward to the carnival as great chance to play more.”
Featuring players aged from 35-79, the carnival features seven men’s age divisions and two women’s competitions.
Every state and territory will be represented, with teams set to include former AFL, AFLW, SANFL and WAFL players.
Richmond and Camden ovals will host matches alongside three playing fields at Barratt Reserve, West Beach.
Two grounds will be showcased each day on the KommunityTV broadcast with 41 matches across the four days of competition.
The 2022 edition will be the 39th staging of the annual event and the first time Adelaide has held the carnival since 2014.
