Well, as long as you’re not skating against him in the heats of the Western Rumble.

The nine-year-old shredder with the big dreams, has adopted a unique way to keep himself focussed on the task at hand when he is on four wheels.

“Sometimes you come off your board, or it doesn’t work, I take a big breath and walk off and smack my helmet,” Caleb said.

“If I am angry I don’t take it out on other people.

“Usually when I fall, I get really angry. When I slap my helmet, it takes that away. It makes me focus.”

The young South Australian will compete in his second Rumble Pro Tour event in Western Australia this weekend, with the event exclusively live streamed on KommunityTV.

Caleb’s mum, Jade Allen, said she had seen so much improvement and sheer excitement out of her son that they had started to really think seriously about future competitions, including the 2032 Olympics in Brisbane.

Caleb skates at the Osborne Skate Park alongside SA rising star Bohdi Smith, and credit’s Smith’s dad Brad in helping him improve out of sight over the past 12 months.

“He is only self-taught, and in the last few months we have looked into getting him proper lessons,” Jade said.

“He has learnt so much already and I know if it is something he really wants to be serious about, he could definitely get to the Olympics.

“He has the potential and it has been awesome watching him progress so quickly in the sport.”
