Ulises Davila (Macarthur) 31st minute
Macarthur are penalised for offside and Davila kicks the ball away from the defender who is unable to take the quick free kick.
Davila then engages in animated conversation with the referee who pulls out the yellow card.
Clayton Lewis (Macarthur) 53rd minute
Lewis isn’t happy with a challenge and loses possession in attack. He follows the ball and then appears to strike at the chest of a Sydney FC player after he passes the ball.
“Clayton Lewis is getting involved in everything as well,” said the commentator.
“The referee wants to have a word. Yellow card. He joins Uli Davila in the book for Macarthur.”
Kearyn Baccus (Macarthur) 72nd minute
With Sydney FC’s Fabio making a break through midfield Bacchus comes from behind for the challenge but almost appears to end up physically tackling the opponent to the ground ending the play. He is immediately shown a yellow card by the referee.
20 April 2024
Macarthur 1 Sydney FC 0
Kearyn Baccus (Macarthur) 41st minute
After a Macarthur attack is denied, Bacchus runs from the edge of the box to question the referee over the failure to award a corner kick.
“Kearyn Bacchus, protesting about the non-award of a corner, careered into the back of referee Daniel Elder there and subsequently picked up a yellow card. You’ve got to be careful doing that,” noted commentator Simon Hill.
