Liverpool v Adelaide: Live coverage, video, updates from Adelaide Oval

LIVERPOOL, spurred on by a vocal crowd, were the dominant side and grabbed a deserved victory against Adelaide. See how it unfolded.

Football: Liverpool took the lead over Adelaide United in the 67th minute through a James Milner goal but he looked to be offside.

PREMIER League giants Liverpool defeated Adelaide United 2-0 in the second game of their two-game Australian tour at Adelaide Oval on Monday night.

James Milner was awarded a goal on 67 minutes but was in an offside position when the cross came in from the excellent Jordan Ibe. New signing Danny Ings wrapped it up with three minutes left when he took a neat through ball from Nathaniel Clyne and scored his first Liverpool goal.

The game started with another epic rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone from a sold out, pro-Liverpool crowd.

The visiting English side opened the short tour with a 2-1 win over Brisbane in front of nearly 50,000 fans at Suncorp Stadium, with Adam Lallana and new recruit Milner’s second-half strike completing Liverpool’s come-from-behind victory.
