Former Socceroos winger Ben Halloran is returning to Brisbane Roar 11 years after leaving the A-League club.
Halloran, 31, has signed a multi-year deal with the Roar after being released by Adelaide United when his contract expired at the end of the 2023-24 season.
A member of Australia’s 2014 World Cup squad, Cairns product Halloran has made 180 A-League appearances, 28 of which came at the Roar in the club’s 2012-2013 campaign.
He has also had stints with Gold Coast United, German clubs Fortuna Dusseldorf and Heidenheim, Japanese outfit V-Varen Nagasaki and South Korean team FC Seoul.
The Roar are also expected to sign Australian under-23 representative defender Hosine Bility.
Bility has spent the past two seasons at Portuguese second division club Brada, and was previously on the books of Danish outfit Midtjylland, who loaned him to Fram Reykjavik in Iceland.
Meanwhile, Melbourne Victory is set to add to its squad with the signings of former Newcastle Jets winger Reno Piscopo and attacker Jing Reec, who spent the 2023-24 season on loan at the Central Coast Mariners from Danish club Aarhus GF.
The Mariners on Wednesday confirmed signing of former Jets defender Lucas Mauragis on a three-year deal.
“I am ecstatic to begin this new chapter of my career alongside this exceptional group of players,” Lucas said after joining the A-League champions.
“I hope to push limits, surpass expectations and I am aiming for nothing less than continued excitement and success for the fans.”
Mauragis’ signing comes hot on the heels of Central Coast’s retention of Brazilian star Mikael Doka for three more seasons.
