Adelaide United centre back Taylor Regan appears destined to leave the club.

The 30-year-old stopper was spotted meeting Reds officials on Monday afternoon.

He is tipped to walk away during this current FIFA transfer window with six months remaining on his contract.

It’s understood Regan has sparked interest from a Malaysian Super League club.

Regan also attracted interest from K-League clubs but it appears the Malaysians are about to snare his signature.

Regan signed for Adelaide in 2016 as an injury replacement for Jordan Elsey.

He was playing in Malaysia and skippered Negeri Sembilan FA after a five-year stint in his native Newcastle with the Jets.

Regan’s game time with the Reds this season has been limited but in the four A-League matches this season, United has not lost, winning three times and sharing the points once.

He was sent off during a heated 2-1 win over Brisbane Roar in Round 6 and was banned from the subsequent game.

In his 31 United A-League and FFA Cup matches, Regan has helped the Reds claim the FFA Cup final last year in a cameo appearance off the bench but was ruled out of the 2017 final.

An ankle injury following a tackle during round one of the 2017/18 season in a 1-1 draw with Wellington Phoenix forced him out of action.

Adelaide has been contacted for comment.
