The son of Group 1 winning trainer Phillip Stokes will join his father in Melbourne.
Croydon Kings’ NPL centre back Kerrin Stokes, 16, has won a two-year contract with the A-League’s richest club.
He had a standout season under coach, ex Socceroo, Adelaide City and Adelaide United defender Angelo Costanzo.
A Croydon Kings official confirmed the move.
The Joey has impressed City’s coaching staff and landed in Melbourne on Friday to start work with his new club.

Kerrin’s older brother Tommy Stokes was also a Joey but the ex-Birkalla player’s love of soccer subsided for his passion for horses. Kerrin now joins a club that has already recruited former SA players Yaya Dukuly, 16, who is in line to represent the Joeys at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil this year.
The son of ex Adelaide striker Cristiano, Rafa dos Santos also signed for City.
City also looked at Reds NPL player Gideon Arok and Kings Sebastian Matosevic.
