“We’ve had a couple of really good sessions,” he said.

“Because everyone seems to have the skills, it’s more team bonding, working together and communication.

“I’m just looking forward to playing some hockey with the boys, it should be fun to get around everyone and it’s always good to play that higher level of hockey.”

He expected goal keeper Matthew Reichardt to be a key player.

“He’s done quite a few of these and he’s the oldest in the team so we’ll be looking for him to step up and direct us from the back,” he said.

Striker Brayden Naess said he couldn’t wait to go up against the best players in the state.

“It’s been a while since our last hockey trip,” he said.

“This will be the first one for the year so we’re definitely looking forward to it.

“We’ll just play our best, do our roles and see where we get from there.

“This is a fairly young team but if we give it a good crack, you never know.”
