That’s how diehard North Queensland supporter Tony Francis feels as he prepares to cheer on his beloved Cowboys from the stands once again.

The Bayview Heights resident will be one of 2000 lucky fans in attendance at Saturday’s NRL match between the Cowboys and the Newcastle Knights in Townsville.
“It’s like being on a desert island and now the boat’s arrived to take me off,” he said.

“It’s a good feeling. It’s fine watching it on TV, but it’s nothing like being there at the ground.”
Mr Francis found out he scored tickets to the game on Thursday, after his name was drawn from a random ballot.

“Hopefully everything goes well and this will be the start of a growth in the number of fans who can attend,” he said.
The Cowboys foundation member said he hoped having a small crowd at the game would inspire his side to break a three-game losing streak.
“Maybe a couple thousand voices will be enough to get the boys over the line,” he said.
