SuperCoach NBL experts reveal their trade plans for round 10

SuperCoach NBL is back with a bang after a mid-season break, and some huge names are in our experts’ trade plans. See all their moves for round 10 here.

Goulding leads Australia to BIG win

It’s all happening in SuperCoach NBL.

Fantasy coaches have returned from the league’s international FIBA break to face signings, injuries and suspensions of some of the biggest names in SuperCoach.

But one player is the focus of attention when it comes to round 10 trades.

See all our expert moves below.

MICHAEL RANDALL

IN: Bryce Cotton and Parker Jackson-Cartwright

OUT: Nathan Sobey and TBC

JESS ROBINSON

IN: Bryce Cotton, Rocco Zikarsky

OUT: Angus Glover, Josh Bannan

I was initially tossing up between Cooks and Cotton to bring into my team, but after seeing Bryce’s cheap price tag, it made for a no-brainer. With Bannan’s injury cloud post Boomers and Glover on the single, they made for obvious outs and I was keen to bring in Rocco after he saw more opportunity before the FIBA break. Let’s hope we see a bit more of Zikarsky in the second half of the season.

JAYMZ CLEMENTS – NBA STRAYA, ‘THE PANEL’ OFFICIAL NBL SUPERCOACH SHOW

IN: Bryce Cotton, Xavier Cooks, Tyler Robertson

OUT: Chris Goulding, Tyrell Harrison, Fabian Krslovic

Have you ever seen an accordion player go off?

Like, REALLY rip into it?

It’s super weird. Because, as much as they’re getting into it on stage or whatever, everyone is looking at them like, ‘Yo, they’re playing an accordion… right?’ with a confused look on their face.

Cos. There’s only so much you can achieve with so little rizz. (Did I use that right? ‘Rizz’?)

That’s basically been my SuperCoach team for the entire season: King Delly’s Tins have been letting it rip, but achieving very little.

BUT.

I have, at least, set my team up with a plethora of Wildcats and Breakers for this specific post-FIBA round.

Now Bryce comes in for Bubbles, Cooks in for Harrison (for a week), and Krslovic out for Robertson (not wildly convinced on this one, but the Kings have the double and he’s cheap) leaves me with a full team – both on-court and bench – of players on doubles.

So it’s all accordions blazing.

SUPERCOACH PLEB (@SuperCoachPleb)

IN: Bryce Cotton, Darius Days

OUT: Nathan Sobey, Keli Leaupepe

I am officially malnourished from not having NBL for over a week ... and now we’re back with round 10 with a plethora of elite guards to choose from.

We are now facing a reality where you can straight swap Nathan Sobey for Bryce Cotton – and that is exactly what I will be doing. It’s a blueprint that 99 per cent of coaches have access to, but he’ll never be this cheap again.

For my second trade, I will be drop-kicking Keli Leaupepe into the sun and getting the bargain bin priced Darius Days for his double. He is cheap enough to keep on the bench during singles. We know his ceiling, and I think he can give us a solid 55-plus SC round.

My captaincy will be on PJC, but I think Xavier Cooks or Jaylen Adams could be the top scorers this round!

JAMIE HUGHES (Usage Rate podcast)

OUT: Alex Higgins-Titsha, Elijah Pepper, Montrezl Harrell

Higgins-Titsha made me some nice cash ($85k), but with squad depth increasing and a DNP last game, it’s time to go. Bryce coming back earlier than expected made Pepper somewhat redundant earlier than expected, and although I would like to hold Trez through the end of the year, not playing for two weeks hurts – a lot. Can’t be having $438k giving doughnuts.

IN: Sam Mennenga, Bryce Cotton, Xavier Cooks

Bryce is not getting any cheaper than this. He’s the best there is. Enough said.

Will no Jonah Bolden or Tacko Fall (yet), Mennenga is a nice guy to have as a back-up centre for the Breakers’ upcoming doubles run. As above, Xavier is not getting any cheaper. He started the year at $365k and got all the way to $431k, only to drop back down. Xavier is a SC stud, averaging 37 points per game!

AL PATON

IN: Bryce Cotton, Rocco Zikarsky, Xavier Cooks

OUT: Matt Hurt, Elijah Pepper, Keandre Cook

My last boost is gone, but hopefully it’s worth it to get Xavier Cooks on court in my FWDs (v Cairns and United) over almost namesake Keandre Cook on the GRD bench. It’s a one-week rental and an easy trade to get Cook back next week (probably for a slightly higher price) ... but locking in one of my two trades for the week is a risk. The other moves are pretty simple, cashing in Hurt and Pepper to grab Cotton. Now I just need to decide which of Cooks, Bryce or PJC to put the C on.

TIM MICHELL

IN: Bryce Cotton, Dylan Windler

OUT: Milton Doyle, Matt Hurt

I don’t really want to give Doyle the flick after he scored 41 before the FIBA break, but I need to sacrifice a guard to be able to Bryce Cotton, who is a must this week. Angus Glover still has a negative Break Even, so it doesn’t make much sense to move him on yet. I might still trade Alex Higgins-Titsha rather than Hurt, but that leaves me with very few options to trade to.

PATCH

IN: Bryce Cotton, James Batemon, Xavier Cooks

OUT: Karim Lopez, Matt Hurt, Angus Glover

This may be the best week of trading I’ve ever done in any SuperCoach format, ever.

I’ve slowly been accumulating moolah over the past three weeks, and now I get to splash most of the $227,700 spare cash (and my final Trade Boost) on some rolled gold premiums. I’m having a lovely time trying to enjoy this before I watch them all get injured two minutes into their first games.

Bryce Cotton is a no-brainer this week at that price point and is likely going to stay in my side (alongside PJC) for the rest of the season. Lock him in, and I’ll start shedding Henshall, Almansa, Doolittle and Pinder over the coming fortnight as they fade out of having doubles. Jaylen Adams would also be a huge in for anyone in the mood.

Cooks is a POD who I’m hoping most won’t grab due to his high price and one week of doubles, and will have the C slapped right on him. He’s the competition points leader, scores SuperCoach points for fun and, oh yeah, one of his games this week is against the Taipans. He’s projected to score 79 this week before the double captain points is applied, and if he does that then I’ll have his children.

It may seem like I’m going a week early on Batemon, who has a single this week before nine doubles, but he’s projected to rise, uh, lemme see, FIFTY THREE THOUSAND SMACKEROOS this week. I’m not sure he puts 43 points on Perth, but if he does I don’t want to miss out on that price rise, so he sits on the bench alongside teammate Keandre Cook. I’m missing Rocco’s big price rise but I’ll grab him next week – I’ll make more money from Batemon, regardless. Batemon might not even stay through the Bullets’ run of nine games, but cash is king and any chance I have to make some I’ll be jumping on.
