A TYPICALLY demanding Adelaide 36ers coach Joey Wright has told his players to forget any feeling of fatigue as they hit the training court in Utah after 24 hours in transit.

The Sixers arrived in Salt Lake City on Tuesday and headed straight to the University of Utah - from where Andrew Bogut was the NBA’s No. 1 draft pick in 2005 - and had a solid hour-long session which included full-court drills and shooting practice.

While they might have had heavy legs, Wright implored them to shake it off and train with the energy and intensity that they’ll need to be any hope of being competitive against the Jazz on Saturday.

“That’s part of the mental adjustment and what they can learn from a trip like this - yeah they’re supposed to be tired but they’re not supposed to act like it so that’s what we want to challenge them to do,” Wright said.

“I thought they responded well, it was a long trip and I was pretty tired myself and I’m not even playing, but they’re in good spirits and have done a good job so far.”

Adelaide is set to train at Vivint Smart Home Arena on Tuesday where they will get a first-hand look at the venue that will host their historic NBA game against Utah which wiped the court with Perth on the weekend.

“Sometimes teams are just better, people are probably critiquing Perth too hard, they were playing against a Utah Jazz team that plays very well and very hard and we’re going to have to come out and do the best we can with whatever they bring,” Wright said.

“But the boys are definitely excited about it and so they should be, a lot of them have dreamt of an opportunity to play against NBA players and on an NBA court halfway around the world it should be a great treat for them.’

Adelaide’s full squad is in Utah preparing for the game including import Jacob Wiley who has NBA experience with Brooklyn.
