ADELAIDE basketball fans have scored a major win with the 36ers’ historic NBA pre-season game against Utah next weekend to be shown live on free-to-air TV.
The game was originally the only one of seven NBL/NBA games not to be broadcast on ESPN because of a scheduling clash with Melbourne and Perth games at the same time. Fans were instead told to live stream it on NBL TV or NBA League Pass.
But the NBL initiated talks with Channel 9 late last week and it was decided the game will be shown live on 9Go on Saturday, October 6 from 10.30am SA time.
It follows an announcement in August that the NBL and Channel 9 had signed a three-year broadcast deal for the network to show two games per round on 9Go.
Adelaide players, coaches and staff are set to fly out on Monday en route to Salt Lake City where they will prepare to play Joe Ingles’ Utah Jazz.
