SuperCoach Rage Trades: Is it time to dump Dustin Martin and who should you bring in?

He was shut down by Collingwood tagger Levi Greenwood and now his role is uncertain in the Richmond team. Is it too early to trade out Dustin Martin in SuperCoach? RAGE TRADES

Last week we held fire as we wanted to see one more week before prices change and now we need to make those corrective trades. This is where we fix up either our rookies that we missed or the premium that has misfired for you early.

LATE MAIL: ROUND 2 HEROES AND VILLAINS

ROUND 2: EVERY SUPERCOACH SCORE

The plan of holding off would surely have paid off for a number of coaches as many wanted to drop Sam Collins who scored an 86 this week or a Chris Burgess who scored 61 this week and they would have potentially brought in Bailey Scott who only had 24. This is why we like a couple of weeks worth of intel. But one thing we have seen this week is some massive scores from our premiums. But as we always do, let’s take a look at those blokes — like Richmond star Dustin Martin — that aren’t performing and need the boot!

BOOT HIM

Dustin Martin (MID $563,800) has not had the start to the season we want. Whilst he had 109 in the first week against Carlton he struggled against the Pies. He still doesn’t look like the Dusty that we saw in 2017.

Sam Jacobs (RUC $455,700) has now had two games where his scoring hasn’t been up scratch for Supercoaches. He did have 40 hit-outs but just 7 possessions on the night may see Don Pyke looking at Riley O’Brien to take over.

Callum Mills (DEF $428,900) struggled this week and doesn’t seem to be getting that points boost we were hoping for. If you started with him then move him on as he will drop in price and look to get him back if he strikes some good form.

Isaac Heeney (FWD/MID $529,200) is on very thin ice with a lot of coaches, me included, as he posted just 67 points from 15 possessions this week. We continue to hear about midfield time for him but it isn’t translating into Supercoach points. With other options out there like Tim Kelly it may be time to send Isaac a message.

Devon Smith (FWD/MID $531,300) has now delivered us a 77 and a 78 from his first two games which is well below what we were looking for when we selected him. Last season he only had 3 scores under 80 all season and in two weeks he has already delivered us two of them.

Elliot Yeo (MID $585,500) has now put in two sub 100 games after being tagged by De Boer this week. We were all concerned about having to select him as a pure midfielder and it is scores like this that we can’t have from a high price midfielder. Time to offload him before he leaks cash.

Dayne Zorko (MID $520,200) is showing us the same level of inconsistent scoring that plagued him at times last season. Given we are only early in the season this is a concern. He seems to be losing some of his midfield possessions to new teammate Lachie Neale and that is going to hurt his Supercoach scoring.

Todd Goldstein (RUC $548,000) had to battle against both Stef Martin and Oscar McInerney this week and he struggled. His 66 was just over half of what he scored last week. But the worrying sign was that he had just 10 possessions around the ground. When he is scoring well he has high possession levels and without them he may need to be traded out of your side.

Josh Dunkley (MID/FWD $516,300) failed to deliver for us this round. As one of the more expensive forwards we need him to be delivering 85+ each week. With Bontempelli now firing it seems as though Dunkley is the one missing out on points. Another week of this and he needs to go.

BUY HIM

Patrick Dangerfield (FWD/MID $660,500) is the must have player in your forward line. If you are one of the quarter of the competition that don’t have him you need to rectify that straight away. Danger showed us just how damaging he can be this week and he doesn’t look like slowing down.

Nat Fyfe (MID $618,100) is showing us that a limited preseason and no JLT is no issue for him. After 147 last week he has backed it up with his 124 this week. He is back to his very best and will be a target of every Supercoach over the coming weeks. The earlier you can bring him in the better!

Adam Treloar (MID $594,200) has had two great weeks in a row now and is showing that having Beams back in that midfield isn’t going to stifle his scoring. He is a must have this season and worth getting in before his price rises.

Lachie Neale (MID $607,300) has now had a 127 and a 140 in the first two weeks. This is enough for us to see that he is more than at home at the Lions and is dominating their possessions with another 43 against the Roos. If you have the spare cash then Neale is one of the key targets for our teams.

Scott Lycett (RUC/FWD $441,200) had nearly 100 points more than his first game for the Power. He seems to be the first ruck choice at the Power with Ryder coming off the bench and spending more time up forward. If he can reproduce form anything like this week again he would be a good choice up forward for you.

Tom Rockliff (MID $405,900) backed up his round 1 effort with another great game to be the equal 3rd highest scorer on the ground. He looks to be back to the Rocky of old and well worth a spot in your side at the moment. He is back to chipping the ball around and racking up the possessions and on the weekend he was the equal top clearance player on the ground with 12.

Patrick Cripps (MID $648,200) was far and away the best Blue and he is the one that is getting all of the possessions for them. His 32 touches included 12 clearances which boost his Supercoach scoring. He is currently in just over half of all Supercoach teams.

Tim Kelly (MID/FWD $505,800) backed up last week and went even better. This kid is doing all he can to show West Coast that he is worth a big trade and big contract for next season. He is getting plenty of midfield time and as someone we can select up forward is well worth getting into our sides.

Travis Boak (FWD $478,000) is in just 2.1% of teams but he has now delivered them a 119 and a 123. The former Power skipper has been rejuvenated this season and seems to be spending more time back in the midfield and with a fit Rockliff in there he isn’t getting the amount of attention he has recently. If he can continue with this level of scoring he will be one of the bargains of the season.

Lachie Whitfield (DEF $542,100) was talked up in the preseason and for good reason. This is now two over 100 in the first two weeks and he was the only Giant to reach that mark this week. He is a gun and if you can get 100+ scores in your backline at that price you should be trying to work him into your side.

Jack Macrae (MID $689,700) is surprisingly in only just over a quarter of sides and most of this is due to him being the most expensive midfielder with Tom Mitchell not playing. But he is delivering on this with an average of 129.5 across the first two weeks he is an option for you as captain each and every week. Don’t miss out on him, jump aboard!

Tom Liberatore (MID $300,400) had a reasonable round 1 but he top scored for the Dogs in their win with 128 this week. Don’t think that he will score this well each week but many wanted to see him back up his 75 and go better and he has certainly done that for us. If you are strapped for cash and need to downgrade to fix another issue then you can downgrade to Libba with scores like this one!
