TIM Kelly looks to be a lock for Round 1 against Melbourne.

Taken with pick No.24 in last year’s draft, Kelly was electric inside the centre square early on Sunday and will give the Cats some extra spark and strength at ground level.

The 23-year-old midfield-forward, who finished second in the Sandover Medal last year, showed a clean pair of heels at the first centre bounce of the game with a clean breakaway which bounced off the chest of spearhead Tim Hawkins.
