CARLTON midfielder Jack Carroll is in a unique position of being a rookie option in SuperCoach twice in one season.

Carroll started the year priced at $123,900 and almost doubled in value by round 6, averaging almost 60 points a game.

His price then experienced a long slide as he was used as the sub in six of his next seven games, including scoring six points in round 11 and 12 when he played a combined 34 minutes of game time.

Carroll was then sent back to the VFL, before returning to the Blues side last weekend, playing a full match for the first time since round 7.

He was thrown straight in the centre square by Michael Voss, attending 15 centre bounces and winning 17 disposals plus two tackles and five inside-50s to post 53 SuperCoach points.

He’s available for just $133,600 with a Break Even of -4 – if you have trades for a downgrade to free up cash to grab a top-liner, he’s the best bet this week – again.

Other key moves and role changes in round 19 included:

ZAC Taylor has increased his CBA percentage each week of his four-game career, attending 61 per cent against Essendon on his way to 71 SuperCoach points.

LACHIE Neale’s low SuperCoach score can’t be attributed to a drop in centre bounces. He was at 24 of the 25 CBAs in the Lions’ win against Sydney.

NICK Daicos attended 64 per cent of CBAs against Hawthorn, his lowest figure since round 7. Collingwood’s Ned Long CBA experiment lasted one week; his CBAs dropped from 15 in round 18 to two last weekend.

TODD Goldstein and Sam Draper had a perfect 50-50 CBA split for Essendon, each attending 19 against Adelaide.

LUKE Jackson’s CBAs dropped from 22 to four with Sean Darcy returning to the Dockers side.

ERROL Gulden attended a season-high 68 per cent of CBAs for the Swans. Taylor Adams’ 48 per cent was also a season-high.

PATRICK Dangerfield was at a season-high 95 per cent of CBAs for the Cats. Max Holmes’ CBAs jumped from three to 11.

THERE was no Mitch McGovern again for the Blues but Adam Saad’s kick-ins fell from nine to zero. Carlton had just four kick-ins for the game, and Nic Newman took all of them.

THERE weren’t a lot of kick-ins to go around at North Melbourne either in a remarkably accurate game, but Colby McKercher led the way with six (playing on from five). Zac Fisher took three and Bailey Scott and Darcy Tucker one each.

AT RICHMOND Jayden Short took nine kick-ins after having one in round 18.

Secret SuperCoach stats

Each week Champion Data guru Fantasy Freako lifts the lid on the SuperCoach scoring system by analysing key moments from the weekend games.

Here are the numbers you need to know from round 19.

BUTTERS BENCHED

Zak Butters dropped below 100 points last Saturday night for the first time since round 14 against GWS, when he was tagged by Toby Bedford.

He spent close to 13 minutes on the bench in the opening term against Richmond and had just 28 points to his name at halftime.

He recovered somewhat in the final term when he had eight disposals, four contested possessions, two clearances and 26 points.

MERRETT BENCHED

Zach Merrett managed 24 points in the final quarter against Adelaide to tick over 100 but his score could have been far greater. He came off the ground in that quarter at the 9:37 mark and didn’t re-enter the field until 18:37.

It was an efficient display nonetheless – losing just 6.3 points from three negative acts.

His goal in the final term netted him a game-high eight points.

HOW SWANS STOPPED NEALE

With no James Rowbottom, Sydney used Luke Parker and Taylor Adams in defensive roles on Lachie Neale. Adams kept him to six disposals in the 39 minutes they were matched up, while Parker kept him to three in the time they spent on each other.

Neale saved himself with a 49-point final term from eight disposals, three tackles and one score assist.

MISSING MAX

Without Max Gawn the Demons have lost the hitouts by 54 and hitouts-to-advantage by 21 over the last two rounds – ranked last in the competition in both measures.

Harrison Petty has taken the main ruck role and had just three hitouts-to-advantage in the 72 ruck contests he has attended.

DOGS CHAMP’S SAD DECLINE

Jack Macrae’s fall from grace has been rapid this season, averaging 72 points – his fewest since his debut season in 2013 (62).

He has played 74 per cent of game time as a forward this year, scoring just eight points on the weekend after coming on as the sub. That was his second-lowest score on record, behind the five he scored in round 18, 2013.
