Thrust into the midfield by Simon Goodwin, the 24-year-old had 22 disposals, five tackles, four clearances and kicked a goal in a barnstorming opening half at Casey Fields.
Petracca had amassed 100 KFC SuperCoach points by halftime after only reaching triple figures three times last season.
He went on to score 188 points after collecting 38 disposals and kicking three majors as the Demons kicked away to a 33-point win.
Petracca’s best SuperCoach season was 2018, when he averaged 81.5.
But if Saturday was a taste of what is to come, he’ll be hard to overlook.

The Demon will draw plenty of headlines, but there was also a lot for SuperCoaches to like about a new-look Adelaide side.
Ben Davis ($123,900, FWD) impressed in the attacking half, while Chayce Jones ($271,500, FWD) was promising in midfield and Patrick Wilson ($190,100, MID) pressed a case for a Round 1 berth to new coach Matthew Nicks.
