ROSTREVOR Old Collegians and Salisbury North will be gunning for their first SA Amateur Football League division one flags when they clash in tomorrow's grand final.
ROSTREVOR Old Collegians and Salisbury North will be gunning for their first SA Amateur Football League division one flags when they clash in tomorrow's grand final.
ROC earned a week's rest with a 21-point semi-final win over the Hawks on September 7.
The minor premier bounced back last weekend with a convincing 14.19 (103) to 10.12 (72) preliminary final win over Goodwood.
ROC coach Tom Wigley said his side was looking forward to facing the Hawks in the Thebarton Oval decider.
"We're just excited that we've got the opportunity to play in the grand final," Wigley said.
"We weren't really fussed who (our opponent) was going to be, but now we know who it is we can plan a bit for them.
"Salisbury North and Goodies have probably been the two best sides all year so it wasn't like we wanted one or the other to win (the preliminary final).
"It's just a matter of us executing our game plan on the day."
ROC lost to the Hawks in round two by 19 points and in round 11 by 56 points.
However, Salisbury North coach Eugene Warrior said past form would have little impact on tomorrow's result.
"All those games we've played against Rostrevor during the year count for nothing now," Warrior said.
"Grand finals are a different ball game and it's all about bringing our best this week.
"We are there but it will be a waste of a season if we don't win this week - we can't sugar coat what's on the line."
The SA Amateur Football League division one grand final between Rostrevor Old Collegians and Salisbury North will be played at Thebarton Oval from 2.30pm.
The reserves decider between Goodwood and Salisbury North begins at 12.10pm.
