North coach Josh Carr makes bulk changes for the clash against South in SANFL

NORTH Adelaide coach Josh Carr made a massive statement when he revealed his side to front South Adelaide in Noarlunga on Saturday with a veteran star among those dropped.

NORTH Adelaide veteran Leigh Ryswyk has been dropped to the reserves following coach Josh Carr’s stunning reaction to the loss to Woodville-West Torrens with a raft of changes for the clash against South Adelaide at Noarlunga Oval on Saturday.

Matthew Appleton and Matt McDonough were also sent back to the reserves, while Jarred Allmond (suspension) and Robert Young (ankle) could not be considered.

Carr will rely on youth to get the job done, promoting Keanu Miller, Jake Wohling and Boyd Woodcock for their league debut. Inexperienced youngsters Jared Deep and Connor Rozee have also been named in the side.

Miller joined the club from Port Adelaide and is a small, pacy forward who can take Young’s spot in attack. Crystal Brook product Wohling is a half back flanker and Woodcock, the SANFL under 18s medallist last year, is a small forward who played in the under 18 championship.

The Panthers lost Anthony Biemans because of a shoulder issue.

Glenelg forward Terry Milera has missed the past two weeks due to personal reasons and will return to action in the reserves against Port Adelaide at Alberton Oval on Saturday.

Calf soreness has forced Josh Glenn out of the Norwood line-up to face West Adelaide at The Parade on Friday night, opening up a spot for Ben Jefferies to be promoted from the reserves.

Key forward Luke Surman is back for the Redlegs, but has been named in the reserves after missing six weeks. An elbow injury kept him out of five games and then an ankle problem prevented him from returning against Sturt last weekend.
