ADELAIDE and Port Adelaide have been given father-son boosts with Luke Edwards and Taj Schofield making the under-16 All-Australian team.

Edwards is the son of Crows great Tyson while Schofield is the son of 2004 Power premiership player Jarrad.

Luke’s brother Jackson last year became Adelaide’s second father-son pick when he was signed as a rookie.

Ben Jarman — the son of dual Crows premiership star Darren — was the club’s first father-son selection in 2016, also as a rookie.

A 187cm midfielder, Edwards, 16, played a pivotal role in SA going through this month’s division one championships unbeaten and joining the Croweaters’ under-18s side in bringing a national title back to Adelaide.

He averaged 16 disposals, three clearances and six tackles and was named in the midfield of the All-Australian team.

Dad Tyson is one of Adelaide’s greatest players, having played 321 games for the club from 1995-2010 and winning premierships in 1997 and 1998.

Schofield, 15, is a 178cm small forward/midfielder who averaged 17 disposals and five tackles for Western Australia during the carnival.

His dad started his career at West Coast before crossing to the Power in 1999 where he played 131 of his 206 AFL games before spending two years at Fremantle following Port’s first flag.

Taj, who plays for Subiaco in the WAFL, is only eligible to join the Power under the father-son rule in 2020.
