Central District has three big reasons to call itself the family club in the SANFL after naming its team to face Glenelg at Elizabeth Oval.

Central District has established itself as the family club after naming three sets of brothers in its line-up to confront Glenelg at Elizabeth Oval on Saturday.

Jarrod and Travis Schiller have already built impressive league careers with the Bulldogs, both playing more than 100 games for the club.

The Neagle brothers Jydon, Matthew and Jaxon joined the club this season from Wodonga and they have all tasted league action, although Jaxon has been playing in the reserves.

And this week the Pisani family will have a double act in the league outfit after Flynn was promoted for his debut and he will join Darcy in the testing challenge against the in-form Tigers.

Darcy made the move to Elizabeth this season after making one league appearance for Norwood last year, while Flynn was with Rostrevor Old Scholars in the Adelaide Footy League in 2018.

“It’s surreal, I have not played with Flynn for more than 10 years,” Darcy said. “It will be a special day, I did not think I’d get this chance again.”

Asked why he switched from the Redlegs, Darcy responded: “Opportunity.

“I had to wait for an injury to play league at Norwood and this was a good opportunity for me.

“It was a very hard decision because I’d been at Norwood from right through juniors. But I didn’t want to have any regrets.

“I’ve loved it at Central. It is a great culture and club to be around. (Coach) Roy (Laird) is definitely honest and he gives honest feedback which I like.”

There are also the Furnell brothers at the Bulldogs with Jordan having played league and Simon reserves. Fraser Fort will front the Tigers and before the game ends, his brother and former Bulldog Darcy will make his AFL debut for Geelong, against the Western Bulldogs.

Then there is Tyrone Milera, a member of the Bulldogs’ under 18s and brother of Crows star Wayne, who was drafted from Central District.

The Tigers have a poor record at Elizabeth Oval, but will enter the contest extremely confident after an impressive start to the season to climb to second on the ladder.
