Kim Ravaillion has paid tribute to her fiance, Collingwood star Adam Treloar, for supporting her decision to move to Brisbane to resume her Super Netball career.

Ravaillion and the couple’s baby daughter Georgie will relocate to Queensland next year to allow the 27-year-old former Diamonds centre to play for the Firebirds.

There was speculation Treloar would follow Ravaillion north to join either the Gold Coast Suns or the Brisbane Lions.

But Treloar told AFL 360 on Tuesday night he had never considered leaving the Magpies

“The story should be about her and the way she’s been able to come back and get to where she’s got to signing a contract to play her professional sport,” Treloar said.

“She made a huge sacrifice for us as a family to start our family in the middle of her prime career. We chose to have a child and she sacrificed her body for that and gave up so much time and so much love to the game.”

Ravaillion said Treloar was “incredible”.

“The way he talks about me ... he wears his heart on his sleeve,” she said.

“I’m so grateful for having him as my partner for life.

“He’s just allowed me to continue to chase my dreams of being a professional athlete.

“The love goes straight back to him. I love him so much.

“We’re doing it together. We’re doing this for our family. We’re there to support each other.

“We just can’t wait. We love challenges, we’re athletes and we just want to keep pushing while our bodies enable us to.”

Ravaillion met Treloar after joining Collingwood’s netball team after winning back-to-back title with the Firebirds in 2015 and 2016.

She has three seasons with the Magpies before taking this year off after giving birth to Georgie in March.

Ravaillion and Georgie spent more than three months on the Sunshine Coast with Treloar after Collingwood’s AFL team moved to Queensland for the COVID-19-affected season.

“We would have struggled in Melbourne because you aren’t allowed to see anyone (in lockdown), so we were very fortunate to be surrounded by kids for Georgie,” said Ravaillion, who can’t wait to reignite her netball career with the Firebirds.

“Some of my best netball memories are from my time with the Firebirds.”

Ravaillion admitted her formed dipped toward the end of her Collingwood stint after having moved there for a “new challenge”.

“My netball wasn’t as good as it had been but I did find the love of my life and we had a kid together, so it was a blessing that I did move down to Victoria,” she said.

“Now I’m ready to get back and play again for a club that gave me so much.

“I’ve had a year off so mentally I’m refreshed, my body is back in top condition, I’ve missed netball, so I want to get back out there and play again.”
