A college located in Port Adelaide is expanding its campus with new Early Learning Centre and three-storey building worth nearly $16m.
Portside College, located at Newport, has announced a campus upgrade to provide state-of-the-art facilities to its students.
Principal Susan Starling said the new buildings would provide students with a variety of new features.
“The three-storey senior secondary building includes a range of specialist facilities which increases opportunities for students to engage in technology and the arts,” she said.
“With indoor/outdoor teaching spaces, learning commons, heat-and-eat facilities and a balcony overlooking the Port River, this magnificently designed building attracted praise from the Port Adelaide Enfield Council for the way it compliments and improves the New Port development beside the river.”
Ms Starling said the college, which is the only independent school on the Le Fevre Peninsula, has a high level of community engagement and has invested $15.7m into improving their spaces.
The college is also building a new ELC that will double the capacity of the current centre.
“It features large light and bright piazza areas and three nature play spaces that are central to the Portside learning philosophy,” Ms Starling said.
“Both buildings will enhance this experience for students, especially the beautifully landscaped areas.
“They also provide an excellent education option for families who are moving to this expanding region.”
