The auction action was picking up in South Australia, with more than 120 homes set to go under the hammer across the state by the end of the weekend.

According to PropTrack, 123 homes were set to hit the auction block this weekend, with 118 of these in metro Adelaide, and the other five in regional SA.

And thanks to our auction streaming partner Gavl, we’ve been live streaming 12 of them here on Saturday.

According to the data, Munno Para Downs in the northern suburbs is the state’s top auction suburb for the week, with six homes there set to go under the hammer by the end of Sunday.

Prospect, on the city’s northern fringe, claimed the second spot with five, while Glengowrie, Hillcrest and Largs Bay each have three properties hitting the auction block this week.

PropTrack economist Anne Flaherty said while auction activity was strong across Australia, the number of properties being taken to auction was down 8 per cent on this time last year.

“While the total number of properties being auctioned has picked up over February, the supply of homes for sale remains relatively constrained,” she said.

“This is cushioning the impact of higher interest rates on prices and supporting a pick-up in auction clearance rates.

“Clearance rates have steadily risen since January, reaching 65 per cent over the weekend just past – well above the level averaged over the second half of 2022.”
