A prominent developer has unveiled plans for a $120m tower to overlook one of the Gold Coast’s best-known parks and bowls clubs.
Camilla, which will rise to 25 storeys, has been put forward by QNY, headed by Anthony Quinn. and is earmarked for a 582 sqm site on Broadbeach’s Surf Parade.
It is the company’s second project in the suburb, with sales underway on No. 21 Broadbeach, a joint project with Glenville Developments
QNY Director, Anthony Quinn said construction would begin in late 2026.
“Camilla represents our continued commitment to delivering refined, timeless architecture in one of Australia’s most desirable lifestyle locations,” he said.
“Set just one block from the beach, Camilla offers protected, panoramic parklands and ocean views, a rarity in today’s market, and further cements Broadbeach as a destination for elevated coastal living.
“Camilla caters for the prime market demographic of local downsizers, interstate migrants, and international buyers.
“The luxury residences provide the perfect investment, lifestyle-focused primary residence or lock-and-leave weekender, offering an unparalleled blend of elegance, privacy, and walkability.”
A development application was lodged with the Gold Coast City Council last week.
According to documents lodged with the council, the building, designed by architecture firm Carr, will feature 31 units.
There will be 16 half-floor two-bedroom units, 14 three or four-bedroom full-floor apartments and a single, two-storey penthouse.
Carr boss Stephen McGarry said the tower’s design was inspired by the coastline.
“Camilla’s architectural composition is deliberate and calm with an unwavering focus on proportion and permanence which sees the volume of the structure softened through layered thresholds and deep reveals,” he said.
“With its orientation angled gently to the coast, Camilla celebrates the natural beauty of its surroundings. Inspired by the coastal landscape, the palette consists of raw concrete, textured masonry, and earthy tones.
“Expansive balconies and open-air corridors blur the line between indoors and out, encouraging natural ventilation and framing sweeping views of the ocean, city skyline, and hinterland.”
It comes amid several major developments either under construction or proposed.
Developer Graya began demolition works on an Old Burleigh Road site to make way for its $150m Enclave tower earlier this month, while Developer DVB is to break ground on its 26-storey Sea Glass tower on First Ave.
Meanwhile, Taiwanese bubble-wrap kingpin Robert Hsu’s Pollycell company has three projects in the pipeline, including the under-construction Rodchester, a 39-storey building which will open in 2027.
It is also building two supertowers – a 59-storey building on the Voyager site and a 52-level complex on the Sandpiper site.
