Fire sale! One huge burning problem lies inside this bargain Elizabeth North property

This delightful red-brick facade home with white picket fence in Adelaide’s ’burbs is listed for just $159k – but its pitch for ‘bargain-hunting fixer-uppers’ might explain why.

They say beauty is what lies within – but this $159k Elizabeth North home’s pitch for “bargain hunting fixer-uppers” might be relying more on what’s outside to snag a sale.

The red brick facade of the three bedroom semi-detached home at 51 Old Sarum Rd seems pleasant enough, but the devil is in the fiery interior detail.

The Elizabeth North property’s insides were torched by a fire which began in the rear porch and laundry area, with photos on the listing showing the ashen extent of the damage.

“Partially fire damaged home, that will need repairing,” the listing says.

“Opportunity knocks, for those that can renovate the damage.

“Going cheap, cheap, cheap!”

The property’s kitchen and laundry area were destroyed in the blaze, along with parts of the back of the 689 sqm block.

Since being listed, the home has gone viral on social media – with a video of the scorched insides being viewed more than 700,000 times on TikTok.

Ray White agent Dominic Cirillo said he wanted to present the property in an “honest true manner” with “no hidden nasties” and had already received more than 4000 inquiries.

He hoped third time would be the charm for the property, after two other prospective buyers pulled out over the festive period.

“We’ve been flat-out and had more than 20 offers, both from local buyers and interstate buyers,” Mr Cirillo said.

“The response has been phenomenal.”

An open house will be held on Saturday, January 28 for those with a burning passion for renovation and a cool $160k in their pocket.
