The eye-watering eight-figure sale price of a lavish Medindie mega-mansion has been revealed.

Transfer documents from SA’s Land Titles Registration Office show the luxurious home known as Elysian at 9 Robe Tce changed hands for a whopping $10.5 million.

The stamp duty alone was $571,330 – more than Adelaide’s median house price, which realestate.com.au data shows stood at $535,000 in the year to the end of August.

The deal smashes the state’s residential transaction record, which was set by a Leabrook home when it sold for $8 million in August 2019.

North Adelaide’s former Anglican Church property Bishop’s Court reportedly eclipsed that price last year, but its price has not been disclosed in official records.

Selling agents John and Stephanie Williams of Williams Real Estate started marketing the Medindie home passively in October 2018 while it was still under construction.

It wasn’t until the mansion was completed in December last year that the couple started actively selling it.

Six weeks later, the home sold to a local family.

Mr Williams wouldn’t comment on the price now or when the deal was inked but said it was a great result for such an impressive property.

“We’re really happy the figure we achieved has broken records in SA,” he said.

“It’s great that SA has officially broken through that barrier, and I think there will be more in the years to come.

“The vendor did a fabulous job, for a long time he put everything into that property.”

Built by commercial builder Charles (Harry) Alexander and partner Yoland Higgs, its creation has been “a true labour of love”.

“The actual construction process was about four years continuously, and then we’ve spent the past two years finishing it and fitting it out,” Mr Alexander said in December.

“There were times where we were doing 12-hour shifts, seven days a week working on the house.

“We just worked on it until it was perfect and until it was finished.”

All up, the house and guesthouse have eight bedrooms and eight bathrooms.

The main home is set over three levels and has up to seven bedrooms.

The ground floor features a grand foyer with a gallery, a massive open-plan kitchen and living area, and an indoor spa pool.

The rear yard has a covered terrace overlooking a pool and spa, pool pavilion, a tennis court and a one-bedroom guesthouse with its own double garage.

The home also has a theatre, gym, wine storage and tasting room, and an elevator.
