Top End crime: Northern Suburbs crash causes traffic delays

A crash at the corner of a busy Northern Suburbs intersection has resulted in the slowing of traffic and one person being taken to hospital. Read the latest.

April 29, 1pm: A crash at the corner of Malak Crescent and McMillans Rd has slowed down traffic as emergency services clean up.

Emergency services received reports of the double vehicle crash about 12.55pm on Tuesday.

A woman was seen being treated at the scene by St John NT paramedics before being taken away by ambulance.

The vehicle impact appeared to be a T-Bone between two smaller cars.

Police, ambulance and fire crews were on the scene to clean up and divert traffic.

Southbound traffic on Malak Crescent was closed leading onto McMillans Rd.

The accident occurred 500m from a previous accident on McMillans Rd on Sunday.

Witness wanted in relation to massage parlour robbery

April 29, 10am: NT Police are calling for a witness who may be able to assist them in relation to an alleged robbery at a massage parlour in Darwin CBD on April 15. 

Serious Crime detectives believe the man pictured could assist with enquiries and are requesting he contact police.

Anyone with information of the man’s whereabouts is asked to contact police on 131 444 and reference job number NTP2500038888.

The aggravated robbery occurred at the CBD massage parlour about 12.50am on April 15.

Police allege two men entered the business and stole cash and property while assaulting workers.

A 37-year-old man was later arrested.

April 27, 4pm: A Top End woman is in a serious condition in hospital following a road crash at Marrara on Sunday afternoon.

The 34-year-old was turning right onto McMillans Rd from Matthews Rd around 4pm, when her car was struck by another vehicle which allegedly ran a red light.

The driver was initially trapped in the vehicle and suffered injuries to her pelvis, while her 33-year-old female passenger suffered multiple traumatic injuries including losing consciousness.

Both women were taken to hospital, where the driver remains in a serious condition.

Man taken to hospital after hit and run in palmerston

April 25, 7pm: A 32-year-old man sustained injuries to his head, legs and spine following a hit and run crash on Temple Tce in Palmerston on Friday evening.

The male pedestrian was hit across the bottom half of his legs by a car estimated to be travelling between 60-80km/h, being thrown over the bonnet and landing on the road.

He was taken to RDH in a stable condition.
