Marvel Stadium has banned Harry Styles fans from queuing earlier than 9am on the day of his Melbourne show.
Styles will perform at Marvel Stadium on Friday and Saturday.
However, on Tuesday, Marvel Stadium posted on its website: “For the wellbeing and safety of our patrons, camping for the Harry Styles Love on Tour Concerts is strictly prohibited.
“Queuing will only be permitted on event day from 9am AEDT and any patrons queuing/camping prior to this time will be asked to move on.”
It added: “Early line systems created by patrons will not be honoured”.
The ban comes ahead of weather warnings and forecasts Melbourne will swelter under 35C heat on Friday, and 32C on Saturday.
The Docklands Stadium ruling also follows crowd chaos in Perth ahead of Styles’ show in WA on Monday.
According to media site Perth Now, HBF Park staff struggled to control hardcore Styles fans keen to grab prime spots in the standing area for his concert, with security at one point threatening to call police.
Hundreds of Perth fans ignored a strict 8am queuing start time on Monday morning in order to score a spot closer to their idol, with some getting there as early as 2am.
Last week, VenuesWest which operates HBF Park, said fans would be banned from camping out overnight and would instead only be allowed to line-up from 8am — with those who ignored the rule facing a move-on notice.
Meanwhile, six fans collapsed from heat exhaustion while lining up to buy Harry Styles merchandise outside the venue on Sunday, as Perth buckled under heatwave conditions.
More to come.
