Two men have faced court charged over the alleged fatal stabbing of a father of six on Chapel St on Easter Sunday.
Samuiela Taholo, 20, of Kurunjang in Melbourne’s west, appeared briefly at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Friday charged with murder, relating to the alleged fatal stabbing of Ruka Carlson.
Mr Taholo could not apply for bail due to the murder charge.
The court heard this was his first time in custody.
He was remanded to return to court for a committal mention on September 4.
It comes after fellow co-accused Hewa Hasan, of Sydney, faced court on Thursday and was remanded in custody to appear in court in September.
The Herald Sun understands Mr Hassan was linked to the “re-launched” Bandidos Melbourne crew.
Mr Hewa was charged by the homicide squad with Mr Carlson’s murder after interviewing him over the incident on Thursday.
The charges follow an allegedly brutal altercation near Electric nightclub and Love Machine on Chapel St, Prahran on April 20.
Police have been told a group of men allegedly assaulted Mr Carlson, from Mickleham, and chased him down the street.
He allegedly sustained multiple stab wounds outside a licensed venue before being transported to hospital.
Police believe Mr Carlson knew his attackers.
