Startling footage has emerged of the moment a masked man sprays a home with bullets in Tarneit in Melbourne’s west.
The disturbing CCTV shows a gun-wielding man, dressed in black and hiding his face with a balaclava, casually firing six shots into the front of a house on St Michaels Drive just before 3am on September 3.
The footage was released by Victoria police on Wednesday.
Three children sleeping inside the property at the time were unhurt, along with two adults.
Before the shooting, the gunman approached a Toyota ute parked on the street outside the property.
After taking a quick look inside the vehicle, he moved towards the house and discharged his weapon, a silver pistol, six times before fleeing on foot.
The adult male occupant of the targeted home is reportedly known to police, and neighbours previously told The Herald Sun there had been issues at the St Michaels Drive home in the past.
Police are still looking for more information about the incident, with witnesses or anyone with additional footage asked to come forward anonymously.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, has CCTV, dashcam footage or any other information that could assist investigators is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppers.com.au
