A Townsville pop singer with over 473,000 Spotify listens and her own Fortnite brand deal is back from London to debut her new show at a South Townsville festival.
Winifred will also be joined by fellow local rock band Tropical Low.
Both will be taking to the stage at Saturday’s ‘One Day, One Street’ festival.
Early bird tickets have already sold out, with final release tickets now on sale, and fans being urged to secure their spot.
Winifred put out a ‘gig alert’ on her Instagram telling fans they could catch her live at the Rooney St event.
“So excited to be part of such a great line up and get the chance to debut my new live show,” the singer said.
In addition to her Fortnite and Shiseido fragrance deals, Winifred has also collaborated with Netflix where she sings the closing track in the Devil May Cry season finale.
Winifred described her music as “ethereal alt pop music” and currently splits her time between North Queensland and London.
She will be performing in the 12.10pm slot, opening the festival for Brad Cox, Meg Mac, the DMAs and Hilltop Hoods.
Tropical Low, a rock trio from Magnetic Island, have been playing at open mic performances across Townsville recently and have used that momentum to secure the 12.40pm spot at the festival.
The band started in 2023 when Adrian Holds (guitar, vocals) and Corey Atkin (bass) met and started playing “intimate acoustic gigs”.
The duo quickly realised they needed a drummer and enlisted Yeonjoo Lee – creating the trio who’ve released two songs together and will be performing live on Saturday.
Tropical Low describe their sound as “blending raw garage rock grit with melodic indie hooks”.
“It is an absolute honour to be part of such an incredible line-up, we honestly can’t believe this is real,” the band said about their One Day, One Street slot.
Townsville Enterprise major events director Chelsea Cavanah said the inclusion of local talent alongside national acts showed why the event was fast becoming a signature moment in the Australian music calendar.
“Taking over Central Park in Townsville, the ONE STREET ONE DAY festival is a sign of growing confidence in the region and another demonstration of Townsville’s ability to host big name acts,” Ms Cavanah said.
Townsville’s acting Mayor Ann-Maree Greaney said the city was buzzing ahead of a blockbuster weekend of entertainment.
“With the Cowboys under lights Friday night, ONE STREET ONE DAY on Saturday, and the Australian Festival of Chamber Music and Ephemera kicking off across the city — it’s a weekend that truly shows the diversity and strength of Townsville’s cultural scene,” she said.
Final release tickets are still available for $140.
