The North Queensland Cowboys have raided the memorabilia cupboard for inspiration on their new 2025 jerseys, adopting the famous grey stripes, collar and majority-white home game look from the 1995 uniforms.
The 2025 design has also swapped out the club logo for a big ‘30’ over the players hearts in a nod to the team’s 30th anniversary.
Those sad to see the cow-horn logo go can sleep easy at night knowing all three team logos used throughout the club’s history will be displayed across the back of the shirts.
One small detail on the new jerseys is the addition of grey panelling around the collar to look like a retro footy collar of the ‘80s and ‘90s.
Cowboys CEO Jeff Reibel said the 2025 jerseys are a fitting tribute for the club’s 30th year.
“We wanted our jersey to honour our foundations,” Mr Reibel said.
“Donning the same jersey as our inaugural team led out by Laurie Spina, and worn by club legend and life member Paul Bowman for his Cowboys debut, will no doubt see us take a moment to savour how far we’ve come.”
Mr Reibel said the team is well aware of the popularity of the retro NRL/QRL jerseys among fans and members.
This isn’t the first time the Cowboys have looked back to 1995 - the 2020 jerseys were also designed to mimic the iconic parts of the inaugural team’s gear.
The 2025 jerseys were designed by apparel partner Dynasty Sport in close consultation with major partners Toyota, Bravus, YETI and TAFE Queensland.
The home and away jerseys will be available for purchase at the Cowboys Team Shop on Flinders Street on November 6, or online at cowboysteamshop.com.au
