Woman, 85, dies in hospital after Ingle Farm hit and run

An 85-year-old woman has died after a shocking crash earlier this week – with police still hunting for an alleged hit-run driver.

An elderly woman died in hospital after hit and run crash in the northern suburbs on Monday, with police still appealing to find the other driver.

At about 8.40am, a red coloured Mazda 2 was travelling east along Wright Rd in Ingle Farm before coming to a stop in a slip lane.

An unknown vehicle then collided with the rear of the Mazda and drove around it before continuing north on Walkleys Rd.

The 85-year-old driver of the Mazda, from Walkley Heights, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

She later succumbed to her injuries.

Major Crash officers are investigating the incident, and are asking anyone with information about the collision or anyone who might have dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
