Six teenagers — one as young as 13 — have been arrested and charged after an alleged incident at a northwestern suburbs shopping centre, just days after chaos unfolded at Westfield Marion.
Police were called to Arndale Shopping Centre at Kilkenny at about 1.30pm on Tuesday afternoon, after reports a group of youths was threatening a man.
It is alleged that two of the boys were brandishing knives, while another is accused of throwing a rock which hit a person on the chin — causing minor injuries.
The group quickly dispersed from the scene when officers arrived, but were found by patrols on nearby Humphries Tce a short time later.
Six boys were arrested and charged with aggravated affray. They were refused police bail to appear in the Adelaide Youth Court on Tuesday,
They are a 14-year-old Athol Park boy, 14-year-old Munno Para boy, a 16-year-old Pennington boy, a 14-year-old Mansfield Park boy, a 13-year-old Mansfield Park boy and a 14-year-old Munno Para West boy.
Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact them as investigations continue.
The arrests comes after three boys were charged with alleged assault, affray and aggravated robbery in an unrelated incident that sent Westfield Marion shopping centre into lockdown on Sunday.
The fight that led to the centre’s evacuation was over a jumper, a court heard on Monday, with the three youths labelled “muppets” by the Premier.
It was revealed that two of the boys, including one accused of wielding a machete, were on suspended sentences at the time of the alleged brawl.
