SA weather warnings extended as ‘vigorous’ airstream blasts state

Wind gusts of up to 125km/h are forecast for the Lower South-East coast, south of Robe, as yet another strong cold front moves across the state this afternoon.
A severe weather warning is in place for much of the state as a “vigorous airstream” persists over the south of the state.
Residents in the Mount Lofty Ranges, Kangaroo Island, Upper South East, Lower South East and parts of Lower Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Mid North and Murraylands districts have all been warned to brace for damaging winds.
That warning is heightened for people living in Mount Gambier, Murray Bridge, Kingscote, Naracoorte, Meningie and Burra.
The potentially damaging winds – averaging 50-65km/h with peak gusts up to 90km/h – are predicted for Sunday afternoon.
By Sunday evening, the gusts could reach up to 125km/h as the front passes the South-East.
On Saturday, a wind gust of 91km/h was recorded at Mount Crawford.
The SES is urging people to move vehicles under cover or away from trees, secure or put away loose items around your property and to stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
