The country’s biggest food delivery service has just got a whole lot larger – announcing a huge expansion into six regional SA towns.

Uber Eats has announced a massive expansion – launching its deliveries to six regional South Australian towns in a move set to pump $45m into restaurants across the country and create thousands of delivery jobs.

With a growing “demand for convenient online ordering options”, the country’s biggest food delivery service will now operate in Victor Harbor, Port Lincoln, Murray Bridge, Port Pirie, Port Elliot and Port Augusta.

The move marks a major win for Bridge Play Cafe owner Serg Grohs, who had noticed increasing calls for doorstep dining throughout the Murray Bridge community.

“There are people in our town who love good food but can’t always make it out to get it,” Mr Grohs said. “That’s where delivery really helps.

“Partnering with Uber Eats means we can now reach more locals, especially those without access to easy transport, and grow the business in a way that works for everyone.”

Uber Eats’ regional surge comes following a broader commitment to regional growth this year – with the company already more than doubling its footprint in 2025 – bringing its services to over 100 towns and communities across Australia.

The rollout is expected to generate $45m in new restaurant revenue, add $19m to regional GDP, create over 2500 new delivery partner earning opportunities, and give nearly one million more Australians access to the Uber Eats platform.

The rideshare side of Uber expanded into the Barossa in April for the first time, ahead of the Gather Round, after the state government removed the requirement for drivers to have separate accreditation to operate outside of metro Adelaide.
