Two men escaped life-threatening injuries when the light plane they were landing crashed into a hangar at the Goolwa Airfield.
The plane was landing just after 11am at the Boettcher Rd site when it crashed.
It is not known whether a wind change or an accidental power application was the cause of the incident.
The Goolwa Airport manager, who asked not to be named, said he called triple-0 after someone came in to his office saying they had heard a bang.
A pilot, who was also a doctor, applied first aid to the men before paramedics arrived.
The airport manager said the crash was rare, and the first on memory at Goolwa Airport since the family-run business was purchased in 2003.
One man in his 60s suffered serious head, chest and leg injuries while another man in his 30s suffered a laceration to his foot.
Both were taken to the Flinders Medical Centre for further treatment.
In April 2019, an ex-fighter jet pilot and his French counterpart had a miraculous escape when their military trainer aircraft crash landed in a paddock at Goolwa after engine failure.
The pair were making their final approach into Goolwa Airport after aerobatics training when the Aermacchi S-211 turbofan powered military trainer suddenly lost power.
