Two crashes at the same site just 40 minutes apart in night of road chaos

Emergency services were at the scene of a crash when cars collided again at the same intersection in the western suburbs last night.

A man has been taken to hospital and another has been issued with a fine following two crashes at the same intersection in under an hour in Adelaide’s western suburbs late on Sunday night.

A 68-year-old man from Paralowie was taken to hospital after his car smashed into the front of a business on the corner of Crittenden Rd and Grange Rd just before 11.15pm on Sunday.

The front window and wall of the business was damaged in the incident which left the driver trapped in his car and required the assistance of emergency services to be removed from the vehicle.

He suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

While police were investigating the incident, another crash happened at the same intersection in Flinders Park.

Just before 11.55pm an Isuzu ute and Ford Ranger collided with one vehicle rolling onto its side.

Emergency services were already at the scene to render assistance and both vehicles were towed from the scene.

All of the drivers and passengers of the vehicles involved were uninjured in the collision.

The driver of the Ford Ranger, a 24-year-old man from Elizabeth was issued an on the spot fine.

Meantime, three people have been arrested following a pursuit at Regency Park in the early hours of Monday morning.

Police will allege that about 2.20am on Monday a patrol attempted to stop a red Ford station wagon on Main North Rd but the driver ignored lights and sirens.

Pursuit of the vehicle was terminated soon after.

The Ford continued north on Main North Rd and then drove through a red light at the intersection of Regency Rd.

The Ford then collided with a white Toyota sedan.

The 34-year-old female driver of the Ford from Morphett Vale was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

She is expected to be released into police custody to face charges including dangerous driving to escape a police pursuit and failing to stop at the scene of a crash.

The woman’s passengers, a 44-year-old Seaton man and a 34-year-old Brompton man will face charges including failing to truthfully answer questions and breach of bail.

The 21-year-old Broadview man driving the Toyota involved in the collision was taken to the RAH for treatment of minor injuries.

This came after a driver escaped serious injury following a crash into a house at Prospect.

Just before 10.25pm on Sunday, police and emergency services were called to Victoria St after reports a Toyota Camry had driven over a retaining wall and hit the side of a house.

The crash resulted in minor cracks to the exterior of the house. No occupants were injured.

The 20-year-old female driver from Brompton was not injured in the collision and was issued an on the spot fine.
