A major highway has reopened after being closed for hours because of a truck caught fire, causing tens of thousands of dollars worth of damage.
Police said just before 2.30am Monday, a truck towing two trailers caught fire on the Eyre Hwy about 14km east of the Nullarbor Roadhouse.
The driver escaped the fire without injury, but the blaze tore through the truck and both trailers, leaving them completely destroyed.

Police said the fire was not being treated as suspicious.
