The young man who died on a busy Adelaide road has been described as a “rebel” who did things “his own way” as his father pays tribute to his late son online.

Billy Martin, 26, was the sole occupant of a vehicle that crashed into a tree on Anzac Highway at Glandore on November 23.

Police reported the death as the 103rd on South Australia roads this year.

His father, Les Martin, took to social media to pay tribute to his son he described as a “rebel”.

“I’m here to let our friends and family know that today we lost my son Billy, as a result of a car accident,” he posted.

“He was 26 years young, such a rebel and now able to rest in peace. So long my boy, you will be sadly missed.”

A fellow online comment said Billy “had a good heart”.

“Billy was very loved even though he did things his own way,” the post read.

“When people didn’t agree with him, it didn’t matter. He never changed. Always doing things without thinking beforehand. Even as a kid it was ingrained into who you were.

“You had the best green thumb and loved growing plants and spending time in the garden. “You had the best laugh that made everyone around you laugh too. I didn’t always agree with you, but I know you had a good heart.”

Flowers, photos and messages have been placed at the Anzac Hwy crash site by friends.

“Rest in paradise – Billy, you’re one great friend,” a sign reads.
