Tree branch crushes car at South Tce in Adelaide

A huge tree limb has dropped on a car at South Tce in the city. It’s the third incident involving a fallen branch recently but this time there were no serious injuries.

A huge tree branch has fallen on a parked car at South Tce in the city.

The incident happened just after 7.30am near Vincent St, opposite St Andrews Hospital, crushing the front of a parked Volkswagen.

A woman sustained minor neck injuries and was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

Police said there was no one in the car.

SES and Adelaide City Council patrols arrived after 7.45am to help clear the scene.

An MFS crew later joined the effort.

Police were on the scene and controlling traffic but it was flowing again by 8.30am.

A witness reported seeing a woman bleeding.

On Saturday night, Wayne Couch, 57, was killed as he sat under the ­pergola of his home in the northeastern suburb of Surrey Downs.

He had been entertaining friends at his Amanda Drive home when the shocking ­accident happened just after 9pm.

And Judy Ditter, 59, from Crafers, was killed at Stirling on November 11, when a tree branch fell on her car.

The much-loved grandmother and teacher at Seymour College was driving a white Toyota west on Mount Barker Road near Gould Road, when a branch fell on top of her car.

Judy was taking her daughter Phoebe, 26, to her car, who was with her when tragedy struck.
