Temperatures are expected to reach the 30s again this week after Adelaide experienced four seasons in just a few days.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are forecast to be sunny with dry conditions across the state, a Bureau of Meteorology spokesman said.
“For Adelaide ‘til Wednesday, we’ll see conditions gradually become a little bit warmer each day,” the spokesman said.
The temperatures are forecast to reach a maximum of 23C on Monday with a minimum of 9C, followed by another sunny day on Tuesday with a maximum temperature of 26C and a low of 9C.
“For Adelaide, Wednesday will be our hottest day with 31 degrees, but it will be hotter over the west of the state that day,” the spokesman said.
“It’s always good to remind people to be sun smart and that we’re into spring now.
“The UV index is higher now and most days we’re reaching the UV index in the high range.
“It’s easy to forget in spring because we get into the habit of not wearing hats, not putting sunscreen on through the winter months.”
The spokesman said temperatures could go into the mid to high 30s across the west of the state on Wednesday.
“We’re looking at 37C at Wtarcoolaudinna and Tarcoola out to the west and we’re expecting 36C at Moomba on Thursday,” the spokesman said.
A cool change is set to hit Adelaide after Wednesday, with a maximum of 19C for the rest of the week with a slight chance of showers.
The temperature is forecast to drop on Thursday with a maximum of 18C and a minimum of 11C.
Friday and Saturday are set to be cloudy with a maximum temperature of 19C and a minimum of 10C, with wind speeds of 25 to 35 km/h on Saturday.
The spokesman said there were no thunderstorms on the radar for this week in Adelaide after lightning caused power outages in many parts of the state last Monday.
“We’ve got a chance of seeing some isolated thunderstorms in the far northeast of the state on Monday. But at this point, we are not expecting thunderstorms elsewhere,” the spokesman said.
