Three boys – one as young as 12 – will face court after allegedly stealing a Volkswagen and sending police on a dramatic pursuit in the northern suburbs.

Three boys, one as young as 12, have been charged with recklessly driving a stolen vehicle after allegedly sending police on a pursuit in the northern suburbs.
Police had stopped a stolen Volkswagen Tiguan travelling south on Main North Rd, Elizabeth, just before 2.30am on Monday.
The car had previously been reported stolen from Greenacres, the night before.
Patrols began following the vehicle from a distance as it continued south on Bridge Rd and through to the inner northern suburbs, but lost sight of it briefly as it drove through the backstreets of Greenacres.
The VW was again briefly sighted on Regency Rd, so patrols cordoned off the area around Blair Athol.
Shortly after, the car was found on Deakin St but the drivers and passengers were nowhere to be found.
PolAir was assigned to help in the search, and managed to spot three people walking across a nearby oval.
Police began to pursue the three youths by foot, and quickly arrested the trio, who were allegedly found in possession of the stolen car’s keys.
The driver, a 14-year-old boy from Craigmore was charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle, driving unlicensed and fuel theft.
Two passengers, a 12-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy, both from Davoren Park, were charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle and theft.
They were all bailed to appear in the Youth Court on September, 6.
It comes just days after five teen girls were charged after a carjacking and police chase in Adelaide’s eastern suburbs.
