Three flights to and from Adelaide were cancelled on Sunday morning after passengers were told of “crewing requirement” issues.
Jetstar flight JQ762 scheduled to land in Adelaide at 11.10am was cancelled, as was an early morning Jetstar flight departing Adelaide for Sydney.
Virgin Airlines flight VA1388, scheduled to arrive in Adelaide from Brisbane at 12pm, was also cancelled.
This comes after the flight chaos on Saturday at Adelaide airport, when nine Virgin airlines flights were cancelled, leaving passengers hanging.
The cancellations on Saturday were attributed to bad weather.
On Sunday morning, it appears Jetstar may have encountered staffing problems, with passengers receiving last-minute notice and an offer to rebook their flight.
“I was supposed to arrive in Adelaide around 11, my flight from Sydney was 9.30am and I got a message this morning at 4.48am,” a Jetstar passenger told The Advertiser.
“The email came first then the text a minute later.
“It said it was cancelled because of crewing requirements.
“They gave me the option to rebook and I just picked the 12pm one.
“I am on a Qantas flight now, which Jetstar covers the costs for, but I can’t check in online for some reason.
“I’m a bit worried I might not actually be on a flight.
“Because since there’s a change in airlines I can’t check in online and I don’t know how much they will really communicate with passengers.”
An Adelaide Airport spokesman said the stormy weather interstate was also still causing issues for flights.
“Adelaide Airport understands this morning’s (Sunday’s) cancellations – both Virgin and Jetstar – are a residual effect of yesterday’s (Saturday’s) bad weather in the eastern states, particularly due to storms around Brisbane,” a spokesman for the airport said.
