In Taylor Swift’s real life absence from Adelaide, we set about showing her what she’s missing out on.
On day one, she shocked fans at Adelaide Airport, posed in front of the Malls Balls and summited Adelaide Oval at the RoofClimb.
Taylor Swift’s second day in Adelaide started with screaming Year 6 girls clambering to touch the Bejeweled singer to make sure she was real.
Taylor’s appearance at Seymour College in Glen Osmond caught the class by surprise and sent the children into a state of pandemonium.
“I was really very extremely excited,” 11-year-old Siena said.
“I’m very happy because she’s my favourite singer of all time.”
Siena is one of The Lucky Ones attending a Sydney show.
“I’m wearing an outfit inspired by Speak Now and I’ve got 10 friendship bracelets,” she proudly said.
And This Love of the pop star has been encouraged by teachers, who spent a day in Term 4 last year with the class, Ticketek website loaded on screens, trying to secure tickets.
Today Was a Fairytale for Greta, 11, who was left “speechless” by the singer.
“There’s lots of schools (she could have visited) and she picked Seymour,” Greta said.
“I see her as a role model.”
Another student, Lainey, 11, was “just flabbergasted” by the icon’s appearance.
“It was everything I hoped it would be and more,” she said.
Acting head of the junior school at Seymour, Emily Rogers was pleased to be able to wrangle the Untouchable star.
“I’ve got contacts,” Ms Rogers said.
Long Story Short, the school went Taylor mad and even incorporated her into the curriculum.
In maths class, students were tasked with working out how many times Tay Tay had said the word ‘shake’.
“The students thought it would be hundreds of thousands,” Ms Rogers said.
But when Taylor visited Cleland Wildlife Park, she met her match in 10-year-old Mandy the koala.
Mandy stole the show, perched on her gum branch, as Taylor was in Wonderland and was Saying Don’t Go by the end of the encounter.
“Mandy the koala was used to visits from celebrities but was very happy to have a special visit from Taylor Swift,” koala keeper Cassie Riggs said.
And the Superstar even enjoyed a sneak preview of upcoming Fringe show Inferno at Gluttony in Rymill Park.
Producer and performer with Inferno, which showcases dance, acrobatics and fire, Kali Savill said Taylor was “a baller in real life”.
“She’s a lot less intimidating than I thought,” Ms Savill said.
The performer has taken inspiration from Taylor since the star released Love Story in 2008.
“I was the right age to receive it and it was very inspiring,” she said.
Performers twirled flaming batons in front of the star in her costume like a Mirrorball.
“She’s shown us up a little bit with the crystals,” Ms Savill said.
“She’s a massive inspiration as a female artist and Shake It Off is my ringtone and my favourite song.”
Naturally, as the Blank Space singer is a massive feline fan, with one even appearing on her TIME Person of the Year cover in 2023, she had to visit some Innocent kittens at RSPCA Lonsdale to end the day.
She took the opportunity to play with 12-week-old brothers Lover and Style, named after the pop star’s songs.
The pair were found by the RSPCA wandering without their mother near a busy Port Rd in Allenby Gardens before they got the chance to Begin Again.
