Taylor Swift spotted in Adelaide: Star meets fans in iconic SA locations

The biggest star in the world cutting out the greatest state in Australia from the greatest pop tour in decades was always hard to believe.

Taylor Swift in Adelaide

Believe it or not Taylor Swift and Adelaide are, like her classic song, a Love Story.

She shocked fans at Adelaide Airport after she flew into the city in Style following her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s Super Bowl win on Monday.

Maybe she feared it would be bad Karma to snub Adelaide, but unsuspecting fans were overjoyed to see her.

Taylor Swift fan Leith Johnson, 19, who said he moved to Sydney as Adelaide “always misses out” on celebrities, described seeing the Anti-Hero singer at the airport as “the best day of my life”.

“I’ve peaked as a human being and I was in shock, no one comes to Adelaide,” Mr Johnson said.

His friend from Sydney Alex Alberry said her heart “skipped a beat” when she spotted the star.

Nine-year-old friends and fans of the pop star Charlise Fandino and Caitlyn Flores were not Ready For It when they bumped into Tay Tay.

“I have happy tears because I love her,” Caitlyn, a student at Kilkenny Primary School, said.

Taylor checked into her almost $7000 a night, 305 sqm, Grace Villa at EOS by SkyCity with a bespoke butler service, a workout room and views of Adelaide Oval.

Even for Swift, the room was beyond her Wildest Dreams.

Fans even spotted the singer reading The Advertiser with a coffee at Paddy Barry’s cafe and posing in front of the Malls Balls.

In the SkyCity complex, at The District sports bar, Kansas City Chiefs fans were still on a high after watching Swift’s beau Travis Kelce lift the Super Bowl trophy.

Chiefs fan Corey Kemp, a former American football player himself with the South City Chiefs in Marion, said it was “a once in a lifetime opportunity” to meet Taylor.

The 20-year-old from Christies Beach thought it was “unreal” to see the Gorgeous star celebrate with fans.

A Fearless Taylor summited Adelaide Oval at the RoofClimb with fan Justine Gaudreau-Fewster.

“I knew if we met we’d be friends,” Ms Gaudreau-Fewster, from Adelaide, said.

The fan donned her best Taylor-inspired outfit for the occasion, a recreation of the pop star’s opening costume for the 1989 tour.

Ms Gaudreau-Fewster said there was “no better person to face your fears with”, up 50 metres on top of the oval, than Swift.

The fan even got the opportunity to have dinner with Taylor at Fugazzi Bar and Dining Room on Leigh St.

Fugazzi owner Laura Sharrad, despite hosting such stars as Nigella Lawson and Henry Winkler, was Enchanted by Taylor.

“I’m a longtime fan and I’ve been listening to her since I was 11,” Ms Sharrad said.

“To get someone like that in Adelaide is pretty cool.”

The singer ended the day at Adelaide’s beaches, but she was not Ready For It to be so hot.

At Glenelg, she joined in playing beach volleyball with some of the state’s best players.

Jerome Tay, 23, was stunned when he saw Tay Tay hit the sand.

“She’s a big presence at the net,” he said.

German fan Laureen Commer had a dip with the star and said it was not such a Cruel Summer anymore after her encounter.

“In Melbourne I was in the queue for five hours but didn’t get any (tickets to see Taylor),” Ms Commer, 23, said.

“I would love her to give me a ticket.”

Ms Commer will see the icon in her native Germany in July.

And Taylor proved she was not so Delicate as she plunged into the water from Henley Beach Jetty with 17-year-old Josh Wallace to end her first day in Adelaide.
