A speeding car allegedly drove on the wrong side of the road to avoid lowered boom gates during a police pursuit overnight.

A man has been arrested after allegedly leading police on a dangerous chase at extreme speeds in the northern suburbs, at times on the wrong side of the road.
The police helicopter alerted patrols of a Toyota sedan travelling 187km/h in a 90km/h zone on the North South Motorway at Bolivar just after midnight Saturday.
The car was tracked from the air as it headed on to Bolivar Rd at Salisbury.
Patrols tried to stop the car but the driver refused and continued at speed on to Universal Rd.
The helicopter continued to track it on Martins Rd and Kings Rd where it was seen driving on the wrong side of the road to evade an activated train crossing and lowered boom gate.
The car continued through the western and eastern suburbs and was followed to Dundee Ave at Holden Hill where the driver and two passengers were seen running into a nearby house.
The alleged driver, a Holden Hill man, 23, was arrested and returned a blood-alcohol test of 0.07. He was charged with a raft of offences including dangerous driving and aggravated extreme speed. He will appear in court in August.
A passenger, a Parafield Gardens woman, 22, was also arrested for failing to truthfully answer questions.
It follows a short chase in the city on Friday, where an erratic driver was forced out of his car when a police officer smashed his window with a baton in the city.
A man in a white Renault van was allegedly driving carelessly at the intersection of Hindley and Morphett St this morning about 6.30am Friday.
Police attempted to stop the van and it drove off, before police pursued it on West Tce.
It eventually stopped when it crashed into a parked car.
When the driver refused to leave his vehicle the patrol was forced to smash his window with a baton to remove him.
The McLaren Vale man, 35, was charged with engaging in a police pursuit, driving without due care and failing to comply with directions.

The car’s front passenger tyre was successfully spiked on Prospect Rd and the car stopped on Main North Rd at Pooraka and a passenger got out of the vehicle.
The Kilburn man, 32, was arrested and charged with carrying an offensive weapon after they found him with a hammer.
The car continued and was eventually abandoned on Butler Court with the remaining occupants fleeing the vehicle.
A man and woman were found hiding in a carport on Fiebig Court.
The driver, a man of no fixed address, 29, was arrested and charged with a raft of offences including driving dangerously to escape police pursuit.
His passenger, a Mitchell Park woman, 27, was arrested and charged with illegal use and unlawfully on premises.
The Volkswagen was stolen with Victorian registration.
