Eva the Democracy Sausage Dog chooses the next state Premier

Our famous oracle and Democracy Sausage Dog Eva has predicted the next state premier. Will she be right once again?

Going with her gut, The Advertiser’s Democracy Sausage Dog Eva has predicted Steven Marshall will be returned as premier.

After successfully predicting Mr Marshall’s win in 2018, our famous pooch was tasked with selecting the winner of Saturday’s poll by choosing from two bowls with a single sausage in each.

One bowl had a picture of Mr Marshall stuck to it and the other one of Opposition Leader Peter Malinauskas.

Eva defied the polls with her prediction but seemed more than happy with her choice as she tucked into the wiener in the Marshall bowl.

A spokesman for Mr Marshall said: “I think Eva understands how well South Australia is going at the moment and we would be barking mad to risk higher taxes and increases in household bills by changing government.”

The statewide Advertiser-YouGov poll had Mr Malinauskas leading as preferred premier at 45 per cent with Steven Marshall on 40 per cent.

Labor led the Liberals in the two-party preferred stakes 56 per cent to 44 per cent.

Mr Malinauskas has also been given the opportunity to comment on Eva’s pick.
